The Reading Room is a modern city reading point and a popular spot in the City Garden. The glass pavilion, which had been abandoned for many years, was renovated and revitalized. It officially opened its doors on July 29, 2015, welcoming both citizens and tourists in the capital. The project was a collaborative effort involving the “Association for Urban Reading Rooms,” the Municipal Enterprise “Tourism” of the Capital Municipality, various partners, and citizen donors.
The Reading Room serves as a contemporary public reading space in the heart of Sofia, providing an attractive environment for reading and book exchange. It aims to be a cozy place that inspires a love for books in the urban setting on a daily basis. Over 1000 donors have contributed their favorite books to the Reading Room, making it a home for diverse literary works.
