Zona B-18

Zona B-18, located 1.5 kilometers northwest of Sofia’s city center within the administrative district “Vazrazhdane,” is characterized by high-rise blocks dominating its eastern part. Its boundaries are defined by Pirotska Street to the south, Dimitar Petkov Street to the west, Slivnitsa Blvd. to the north, and Opalchenska Street to the east. Formerly part of the historic Sofia district of Konyovitsa, Zona B-18 has transformed into a bustling community with educational institutions at its core.

In terms of education, the neighborhood hosts the “Hristo Smirnenski” Elementary School and the 134th Secondary School “Dimcho Debelyanov,” contributing significantly to the intellectual development of the local population. The 65 “Miluvka” shopping center, although slightly beyond the official boundaries, serves as a commercial hub, offering a variety of goods and services to residents.

Zona B-18 boasts an efficient transportation network, enhancing connectivity. The Sofia Metro runs beneath Todor Aleksandrov Blvd. to the south, providing a swift means of commuting. Tram line 22 follows Pirotska, and trolleybuses 1, 5, and 7, along with buses 60 and 74, traverse Opalchenska, ensuring seamless mobility within the neighborhood.

This district stands as a dynamic and well-connected part of Sofia, where education, commerce, and transportation converge to shape its urban fabric. As Zona B-18 continues to evolve, it remains an integral component of the city’s landscape.
