“Malinova Dolina” is a neighborhood situated in the southern part of Sofia, Bulgaria. Positioned away from the hustle and bustle of the city and in proximity to the “American College” complex in Sofia, it lies to the west of the Mladost-4 district and is bordered to the south by the Ring Road. The neighborhood is traversed by St. Kliment Ohridski Blvd., and in the vicinity of the Darvenica district, there are warehouses, small production facilities, and office buildings.
The southern part of the National Sports Academy complex features nine streets with numerous new luxury houses and vacant lots, making “Malinova Dolina” known as one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Sofia.
Architecture in the area predominantly consists of single-family houses. The neighborhood’s new plan emphasizes improved urban planning indicators and ample space for landscaping. The municipal administration focuses on enhancing water supply, sewerage systems, and the street network.
“Malinova Dolina” is appreciated for its strategic location, offering quick and easy access to the central part of Sofia. It is serviced by bus lines 69, 70, 111, and 123. However, one notable drawback is the absence of schools, health facilities, or kindergartens, as the original town planning designated it as a villa area.
The Carmelite Monastery, a significant structure in the neighborhood, was built in 2002. Additionally, in 2013, the Church of the Holy Spirit was completed adjacent to the monastery.
