The University of National and World Economy (UNWE) is a prestigious institution known for its excellence in economic education and research, serving as a leading force in higher education in Southeastern Europe.

UNWE’s esteemed reputation is further solidified by its honorary title recipients, including Nobel laureates in economics such as Prof. Joseph Stiglitz and Prof. Paul Krugman, as well as influential figures like former European Commissioner Franz Fischler and former Czech President Prof. Vaclav Klaus.

Among its notable alumni are five Prime Ministers of Bulgaria, including Kristalina Georgieva, CEO of the World Bank, and Simeon Djankov, Director of the Financial Markets Group at the London School of Economics and former Minister of Finance of Bulgaria.
