Neighborhoods

“Polygona” emerges as a distinct district within the vibrant cityscape of Sofia.

Strategically positioned in the immediate vicinity of one of Sofia’s main arteries, “Tsarigradsko shose” boulevard, and marked by the “District Hospital” stop, Polygona enjoys a central location. To the southwest, it shares its border with Mladost quarter 1, extending beyond Tsarigradsko shose, while to the northeast, it connects with Druzhba quarter 1 across Prof. Blvd. Tsvetan Lazarov. This geographical placement enhances Polygona’s accessibility and connectivity within the broader urban framework.

The district, predominantly constructed after the 1970s, boasts a mix of architectural styles, featuring panel blocks from the Bs-69-Sf series and higher EPK blocks. This blend creates a diverse urban landscape, showcasing the evolution of Sofia’s architectural character over the years.

Polygona is not only a residential area but also home to significant institutions. The Rodina Printing Complex, Sofia Press, and the printing house “Education and Science” contribute to the district’s dynamic profile. These establishments underscore Polygona’s multifaceted identity, serving as hubs for media and educational activities within the city.

As Sofia continues to evolve, Polygona stands as a testament to the city’s commitment to modern urban living. The district’s mix of residential and institutional spaces reflects the diverse needs of its residents and contributes to the overall vibrancy of Sofia’s urban landscape.
