The “Simeonovo – H. Aleko” cable car, officially opened on April 4, 1983, is the longest passenger ropeway in Bulgaria. With a length of 6,270 meters and a capacity for 1,200 people per hour, it serves as a vital transportation link between the Simeonovo district of Sofia and the “Aleko” hut on Vitosha. The cable car features 6-seater cabins and includes two intermediate stations, providing convenient access to various points on Vitosha, including the “Aleko” hut, “Tintyava” hut, academic base “Akademik,” and “Cherni vrah” shelter. Visitors can access the cable car by private car, bicycle, or public transport buses (bus numbers 123, 122, and 111).

Cable car “Simeonovo – Aleko” from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Last boarding from the starting station – 16:30
Last disembarkation from upper station – 17:30
The lifts will only operate on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
