House-museum of “Georgi Dimitrov”

Museums

Georgi Dimitrov’s residence was transformed into a museum, and in 1954, the Central Museum “Georgi Dimitrov” was founded.

In 1972, the amalgamation of the two museums resulted in the establishment of the “Georgi Dimitrov” National Museum, encompassing three distinct exhibitions: a memorial exhibition showcasing the home where Dimitrov and his family resided until 1923, along with documentary-themed exhibitions titled “The Dimitrov Family” and “Georgi Dimitrov and the struggle against fascism, for a united front, for socialism.”

To fulfill the decision to establish a house museum in honor of Georgi Dimitrov in 1949, a commission was assembled, initiating the collection of materials. Subsequently, a biographical documentary exhibition was organized in the adjacent house a few years later.
