Alexander Zhendov (1901-1953) was a notable Bulgarian artist whose close association with Hristo Smirnenski extended to creating cartoons and illustrations for several collections of the poet’s works. Beyond this collaboration, Zhendov’s artistic contributions extended to various newspapers and magazines, including notable publications such as “Laughter and Tears,” “Bulgaran,” and “Red Laughter.” His drawings graced the pages of these periodicals, showcasing his talent and leaving a lasting imprint on the Bulgarian artistic and literary scene.
