Monument to Hilarion Makariopolski

Monuments

The monument honoring Hilarion Makariopolski stands proudly in front of the Holy Synod building in Sofia. Erected to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of his passing, this tribute was entrusted to the skilled hands of sculptor Al. Andreev, crafted from the pristine white Vratsa stone.

Adorning the monument is a bronze bas-relief featuring the dignified visage of the bishop alongside the inscription: “Hilarion Makariopolsky, 1812 September 6 – June 4, 1875.” This commemorative artwork stands as a testament to the life and legacy of this revered figure in Bulgarian history.
