Established within the premises of the Metropolitan Library at 4 Slaveykov Square since 1994, the Municipal Cultural Institute Theater “Vazrazhdane” holds a chambered hall accommodating up to 100 seats. The theater boasts a dedicated team of 21 individuals specializing in creative, administrative, and technical roles. At the heart of its artistic expression, “Vazrazhdane” Theater stages performances encompassing works by Bulgarian and European modern as well as classical playwrights. In its repertory, the theater honors and advances the rich dramaturgical traditions of both national and international significance.
One distinguishing feature of the “Vazrazhdane” Theater lies in its successful presentations of performances tailored for children—a rare offering among the capital’s theatrical landscape. These productions witness the collaboration of top-tier creative ensembles, including directors, actors, and scenographers spanning various generations. Notably, the theater engages both seasoned masters and students hailing from esteemed institutions such as NATFIZ “Kr. Sarafov” and Theater College “Lyuben Groys.” This harmonious blend represents a continuation of the national theater’s longstanding traditions, embracing the talents of established figures and nurturing the potential of emerging artists in the theatrical realm.
