The British Council Library in Sofia has a rich history of serving as a resource hub for English-language materials and a cultural bridge between Bulgaria and the United Kingdom. However, in November 2009, the physical library service was closed due to the increasing accessibility of English books and materials through other means. The library collection was largely donated to the English & American Studies Library at Sofia University, ensuring continued access to these valuable resources for the public (British Council) (British Council).
