“Iskar” district
The “Iskar” area is located in the eastern part of the capital on an area of 25.6 square kilometers. Its inhabitants are 71,500. There are more than 40 significant companies in the area, such as: “Daru Kar” JSC; “DHL”; “Chrismetal” EOOD; “Sofia honey”; Heating District “Sofia – East”; “Krioinvest” AD; Fair “Sofia” JSC and others.
The attractions of the area are the water park – lake and the Vrana locality, characterized by its rare trees and bushes.
Cultural activities are concentrated in the “Iskar” cultural center and the “Elin Pelin” community center in the village of Busmantsi.
“Kremikovtsi” district
:
“Kremikovtsi” area has an area of about 300 sq. km. and a population of over 30,000 people. Cultivable agricultural lands are over 89 thousand decares; forest fund – deciduous and coniferous forests over 61 thousand decares.
More significant production enterprises on the territory of the Kremikovtsi region are “Synergon Petroleum” EOOD, “Techno Panel” AD, “Xela – Bulgaria” EOOD, Exchange – Sorting Center of Bulgarian Posts, warehouse base “Andrea Shtil”, “ZSK – Kremikovtsi” ” JSC, storage base for light fuels and propane – butane “Eco – Bulgaria”, Integrated system for household waste management in a metropolitan municipality, etc.
There are large commercial establishments in the area – Construction hypermarket “Baumax – Sofia 1”, Megamarket “Roda”, Industrial goods store “Jumbo”, RUM “Kremikovtsi”, Tire center “Diana”, “Trade and service center – Peugeot”, “Shops – Martitrans – East Trade Center” and others.
More famous spiritual centers in the area are the monastery “St. George the Victorious” – Kremikovtsi quarter, monastery “St. Nikolay Mirlikiyski” – Seslavtsi district, monastery “St. Maria Magdalena” – town of Buhovo and even more than 20 pcs. chapels, churches and monasteries.
The cultural activity takes place in the House of Culture in the town of Buhovo and 10 no. community centers in populated areas.
In the field of education, the “National Center for the Development of Human Resources and Regional Initiatives” was built at MTSP – Kremikovtsi quarter, 9 no. Secondary and primary schools, 10 units. childcare facilities, etc.
