The “Tear and Laughter” theater inherits the legacy of the oldest professional Bulgarian metropolitan theater troupe, founded in 1892, a remarkable 12 years before the establishment of the National Theater. Throughout its existence, the theater has showcased a multitude of plays from both Bulgarian and global classics. Renowned figures in Bulgarian directing and acting, spanning from the legendary generation of the early days of Bulgarian theater to contemporary theater luminaries, have embarked on their creative journeys on the stage of “Tear and Laughter.”
