Cityscape

The building of the central administration of the BNB was built in 1935-1939. It is a cultural monument and one of the architectural landmarks of the capital. It was built according to the project of the prominent Bulgarian architects Ivan Vasiliev and Dimitar Tsolov with the cooperation of the architects Hristo Peshev and Boris Kapitanov and the designers Dimitar Bainov and Krastyu Ilchev.

The main objective of the Bulgarian National Bank is to maintain price stability by ensuring the stability of the national monetary unit. The BNB regulates and supervises other banks in the country in order to maintain the stability of the banking system. Since January 1, 2017, the BNB has participated in the European System of Central Banks.
