The Bulgarian Engineering-Architectural Society (BIAD) stands as a professional association dedicated to the unity and collaboration of Bulgarian architects and engineers. Its roots trace back to its establishment on February 2, 1893, in Sofia. By 1937, the organization transitioned to be known as the Union of Bulgarian Engineers and Architects, signifying its expanded scope and membership.

To serve as its headquarters, a distinguished building was erected during the period of 1926-1930, designed by architects Rusev and Goranov. This structure was envisioned as a space to accommodate the society’s activities and gatherings, symbolizing the dedication to fostering professional growth, collaboration, and advancement within the realm of engineering and architecture in Bulgaria.
