The monument to Pope John XXIII stands adjacent to the Catholic Cathedral “Saint Joseph” in Sofia. Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli, also known as the Bulgarian Pope, served as the Papal Nuncio in Bulgaria from 1925 to 1935.
