Holy Trinity Church

Religious

The “Holy Trinity” church graces one of Sofia’s tranquil and sought-after neighborhoods, “Geo Milev,” specifically in the “Slatina” district. In close proximity to the church, you’ll find convenient amenities such as bus stops, schools, kindergartens, supermarkets, Geo Milev Park, and the “Akademik” and “Festivalna” hall. Erected in 1943, the church remains in excellent condition, boasting dimensions of 35 m in length, 14 m in width, and 12 m in height. Notably, frescoes were added to the central dome and the altar in 2000. Legend has it that a dream of the teacher grandmother Spasa revealed the presence of the remains of an ancient monastery at this site. Subsequent excavations uncovered the foundations of a much larger temple than the present one. Adjacent to the church now lies the grave of grandmother Spasa.
