Stefan Toshev Toshev was a prominent Bulgarian military figure and general during World War I. He played a significant role as the commander of the III Bulgarian Army, notably leading successful battles on the Dobrudja Front against Russian and Romanian forces in 1916. After conflicts with the commander of the Allied troops on the Danube Front and in Dobrudja, Toshev was replaced by General Stefan Nerezov on November 23, 1916. He was later appointed governor of Macedonia.
