Dramedi Youth Theater

Art & Culture

Youth Theater “Dramedi,” founded in 2009 by Tsveta Baliyska—an accomplished actress and educator—serves as a nurturing ground for young talent aged 13 to 23 years. For younger enthusiasts aged 6 to 12, there’s “Dramedy Junior,” specifically tailored to inspire and engage small theatergoers. Accepting new members throughout the year, Dramedi recommends beginning participation in October, at the season’s start, to fully benefit from the program.

The theater offers a comprehensive curriculum that extends beyond mere rehearsal for upcoming performances. It includes the cultivation of acting techniques, stage presence, voice control, as well as training in contemporary dance and singing. This holistic approach aims to refine the actors’ craft and stimulate creativity within each participant.

Dramedi’s reputation for excellence is underscored by its numerous festival appearances and a plethora of awards recognizing best performances, direction, music, choreography, and individual acting prowess. Its rigorous training program stands as a solid foundation for those aspiring to join Natfiz or any prestigious theater academy, both within Bulgaria and internationally.

Classes for Dramedi are scheduled every Sunday from October to June, with sessions for older participants (Dramedi-large) from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and for the younger group (Dramedi-small) from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Interested individuals can register via phone at 0886 19 44 92. Both groups convene at the “Haitov” Art Hall, located in the Iztok Quarter, 7 Yuri Gagarin Street, creating a vibrant community of budding theater professionals.
