Comprehensive Description
Established with the noble mission of contributing actively to the formulation and execution of state policies in higher education and research, particularly in the vital sectors of land transport, transport infrastructure, and telecommunications, Todor Kableshkov University of Transport has been a cornerstone in the development of these areas. Since its inception in 1922, it has produced over 30,000 alumni, who have gone on to assume pivotal roles within various key sectors, including the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, public transport services, consulting firms, and research institutes.
In 2001, Todor Kableshkov University of Transport distinguished itself as one of the first Bulgarian universities to adapt to changes in the Higher Education Law, enabling students to progress directly from Bachelor to Master’s programs. The university prides itself on fostering a tradition of continuity, with many students following in the footsteps of their alumni parents.
The university’s campus is comprehensively equipped to support a rich learning and research environment. Facilities include conference halls, an aula, meeting rooms, lecture and video halls, computer training rooms, and advanced laboratories equipped with CAD/CAE/CAM systems, simulation modeling for transport and communications, and a dedicated center for business planning and project management. Additionally, the campus hosts computer labs, a JAVA programming research laboratory, a complex laboratory for railway transport operation, a sports center, and student hostels.
The campus library offers an extensive collection of resources, allowing students to borrow books or study in the reading room. An open-access local network with wireless internet is available throughout the campus, and computer rooms are accessible for student use outside of scheduled seminar and class times.
