About the Library:
The Central Library of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (CL-BAS) is the oldest scientific library in Bulgaria, established alongside the Bulgarian Learned Society in 1869. It serves as a national center for literary-documentary heritage and a crucial information base for both fundamental and applied research. The library manages over 2,000,000 documents and supports a network of 48 specialized libraries within BAS’s scientific units.
CL-BAS provides extensive services including access to Bulgarian and foreign literature, digital resources, and databases like ScienceDirect, Scopus, Web of Science, and JSTOR. The library actively participates in international book exchanges with over 780 institutions from 61 countries, enhancing its global reach and collaboration.
