Temple “Ascension of the Lord”

Religious

The foundation stone for the temple was laid in 2002, marking the commencement of an approximately eight-year-long construction period.

Orthodox Christians commemorate the Ascension of the Lord on May 17th. This significant occasion in the Orthodox Church calendar falls forty days after the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Following His resurrection, Christ remained on earth, imparting teachings to His disciples and preparing them for their apostolic mission. On the fortieth day, before the eyes of His apostles and followers, Jesus ascended from the Mount of Olives to heaven. The Church honors this event as a grand feast, termed the Ascension of the Lord.

The Solemn Celebration of the “Ascension of the Lord” takes place at the singular capital temple, marked by a bishop’s service to commemorate this revered occasion.
