Zapaden Park is the largest park in Sofia, covering an expansive area of 4.17 square kilometers. Positioned between the districts of Zapaden Park, Lyulin, Fakulteta, Krasna Polyana, Zaharna Fabrika, and Gevgeliyski, the park is traversed by the Suhodolska River, and a railway line to Pernik passes through its expanse.
The park boasts a well-developed infrastructure, featuring numerous benches and playgrounds. While lacking night lighting, it offers a serene environment. As visitors approach the park’s end, where the “Smerdana” area is situated, they traverse a forest that retains its natural authenticity. This part of the park provides an escape from the bustling city, offering an ideal setting for leisurely walks, sports, and recreation.
