The church is part of an archaeological complex that existed in the period from the end of the 12th century to the 19th century. The temple was reconstructed and destroyed several times during the Ottoman yoke. After the Liberation, it was buried in the ground. Nowadays, only partial remains of it are preserved under “Bulbank”.
