The water tower in “Lozenets”

Cityscape

The water tower situated in the “Lozenets” district of Sofia was constructed in 1929 and stands as one of the city’s iconic buildings. Originally serving as a water tower, it was an integral part of the water supply system for the Lozenets district and is among the few remaining structures of its kind in Sofia. The water supply project for the area was initially designed in 1903 by the German engineer Franz Salbach. Today, the water tower is a historic landmark, reflecting the city’s architectural heritage and its role in essential infrastructure.
