Ilka Popova (1905-1979) was a Bulgarian opera singer, mezzo-soprano. From an early age, he sang in an amateur children’s choir. In 1921, he recorded opera singing with Ivan Vulpe at the State Conservatory. The following year, he made his debut at the Sofia Opera. After graduating in Sofia, he studied in Italy, Austria and France. For 21 years he worked at the Grand Opera in Paris and achieved international fame. She is also the first Bulgarian singer to sing at the La Scala opera house in Milan.
