The National Military History Museum (NMMH) preserves over one million cultural assets, witnesses of Bulgarian and European military history. It is the only museum in our country that presents three expositions with about 28 thousand exhibits.
The important battles of Bulgarian history, the ideas and heroes of the national liberation struggles, the 130-year history of the Bulgarian Army with an emphasis on the wars it led are presented in the thematic-chronological exposition. The richest state collections of weapons, military uniforms and awards attract visitors to the collection exposition. With over 270 cultural assets, the external exhibition shows the development of artillery, armored, aviation, naval, missile and engineering equipment of the Bulgarian Army. The youngest visitors can have fun in the MIG Children’s Museum – thinkers, inventors, heroes, designed for children from 3 to 12 years old.
Naval Museum – Varna, Park-Museum of the 1444 Military Friendship “Vladislav Varnenchik” – Varna, and Aviation Museum – Plovdiv are also part of the museum family of NVIM.
