The exposition of the historical museum in the town of Dryanovo, dedicated to the life and work of Master Kolyo Ficheto, was opened in 1969 on the occasion of the 170th anniversary of the Master’s birth. Nikola Fichev was born in the town of Dryanovo in 1800
year. He studied carpentry and masonry.

The architectural-sculptural complex is located at the beginning of the Gilei district, which has preserved the charm of a Renaissance settlement from the 1940s. Tools, building documents and samples of church and domestic wood carving related to the activity of the famous builder are shown. However, the models, archival photos and drawings of his most remarkable constructions, which are difficult to even list, enjoy the greatest attention.

In his hometown alone, there are several of them: the church “St. Nicholas” /1851/, which still impresses today with its impressive dimensions and architectural design, several dwellings, of which only the Economist’s House and the stone bridge on the Dryanovska River are preserved today. Not to mention the churches “St. Nicholas” and “St. St. Constantine and Elena in Tarnovo, “Sveta Troitsa” in Svishtov, numerous bridges and the especially famous bridge over Yantra near Byala. That’s why Kolio Ficheto was rightly called “The Sensible Architecton”.
