The Library at the University of Mining and Geology “St. Ivan Rilski” (UMG) was established in 1964 and has since become an integral part of the academic environment, providing essential scientific, technical, and academic literature for students, researchers, and faculty. The library’s collection includes over 94,000 units, comprising books, periodicals, theses, research papers, and electronic resources, all organized systematically by the Universal Decimal Classification (UDC).
The library supports the educational and research activities of the university’s primary scientific domains: mining and geology. It offers various services, including internet access, bibliographic and factual reference services, inter-library lending, and facilities for photocopying, scanning, and printing. The library’s transition to digital resources includes the implementation of electronic catalogs and full-text databases, enhancing accessibility and usability for its patrons.
