The Monument to the Unknown Warrior stands prominently in the center of Sofia, Bulgaria, adjacent to the Saint Sofia Basilica on Paris Street No. 2. Comprising elements such as the “eternal fire,” a relic from the Battle of Stara Zagora and the Battle of Shipka, significant events during the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878, the monument also features the iconic statue of a reclining lion, sculpted by the renowned artist Andrey Nikolov.
