The art gallery “Nikola Manev” is located in the center of Chirpan. Behind the painted facade of the home, built a century and a half ago by a local Turkish bey, stretched a huge yard, framed by dense boxwoods, and the wide cobbled path leads to the neighboring house, where Peyo Kracholov Yavorov was born and grew up.
The “House of the Bey”, as the old Chirpanlians call it, is currently one of the most beautiful old Renaissance houses in the city. In April 2000, the world-famous Chirpan artist Nikola Manev bought it and turned it into a gallery. For this purpose, the house was restored and furnished with the author’s paintings.
Manev’s friend – the Bulgarian Ilia Delev, who has been living in Brazil for many years and is one of the founders of the “Earth and People” museum in Sofia, gave the artist 10 unique crystals from South America, which are exhibited in the gallery’s halls.
