“Dimitar Dobrovich” Art Gallery – Sliven, dates back to 1905. In his will, the Renaissance artist Dimitar Dobrovich left 14 of his works to his hometown. With them, the young artist Yordan Kyuvliev arranges the first exhibition in the library of the “Zora” community center.
Later, the bequeathed 40 works by Zoitsa Kyuvlieva – mother of the tragically deceased artist Yordan Kyuvliev – were added to these works. In 1965, the “Dimitar Dobrovich” HG was established as an independent cultural institute with its own exhibition building and with the official name – “Dimitar Dobrovich” art gallery.
