• Mehmet Sadetin (Hoxha Sadeddin) (1536 – 1599): Capture of Sofia by the Ottomans. (Magazine Serdika, bg 1 – 2, 1942 p. 90, translation from Tacüttervarih, 1, 1862/63, 102 p.). Describes the capture of Sofia by the Ottomans through the treachery of a close associate of the ruler of Sofia, who is hunted down and kidnapped in Plovdiv by the head of the Ottoman army, Balaban Bey.
