Vittorio Positano, commonly known as Vito Positano, was an Italian diplomat whose actions during the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 contributed to the rescue of Sofia. A memorial plaque dedicated to him can be found on Positano Street in Sofia, situated on one of the side walls of the courthouse.
